About us...
Sanctuary Salon & Day Spa represents a new approach to salons and day spas that blends together the sophisticated services offered by upscale salons with the personalization that was the hallmark of beauty parlors of the past. Daniel Jasken and Youssef Addi, Sanctuary's co-owners, developed the concept for Sanctuary by working closely with clients through all phases of planning, design and construction.
They believed that a visit to a salon maybe the only opportunity some people have to take time for themselves. So, the idea then, is to create a unique concept for a destination salon where a visit does not feel like another errand scheduled into their clients’ busy lives.
Sanctuary’s owners began asking clients for their vision of a perfect salon experience. Clients challenged them to create a salon that combined the services of an upscale Newbury Street salon, the comfortable feel of a New York City loft, and the pampering of a resort spa. Sanctuary meets this challenge and more.
Sanctuary is unique because the entire approach to its creation was unique. Clients were involved in planning every aspect of Sanctuary’s operation. They described the ideal and perfect experience, outlining everything from making appointments, to being welcomed in reception, to receiving the desired service and finally checking out and booking other appointments.
The best way to stay true to our vision was to keep clients actively involved in the implementation phase as well. So, in a sense our clients became investors in Sanctuary. They worked tirelessly with us to find the perfect location as we turned to them when hiring architects, contractors, and interior decorators.” said Addi in a statement he made to the Country Gazette last September. “Clients volunteered to help us paint, tile and finish the interior work. Clients across the region even helped us locate lighting fixtures and furnishings, Addi continued.”
“Sanctuary is a true testament to the power of networking,” said Jasken in the same edition of the Country Gazette.  “Our clients recommended who they thought were the best hair stylists, aestheticians, and manicurists in the area. We have recruited those individuals in building the Sanctuary family and made the promise that they, too, will share our success and prosperity.”
Sanctuary, which opened its doors July of 2005 is now a 6,000 sq ft salon that has a home in a refurbished old mill on a quiet side street in Franklin, Ma. Through its dozens of floor-to-ceiling windows, all service areas carefully designed along the exterior walls overlook a panoramic view of gardens and beautiful landscape. This just adds to the entire Sanctuary experience that carries the slogan “May you always walk this earth with good thoughts”.
